Welcome to the Orthodox Church, and welcome to St. Basil Church. If this is your first-time exploring Orthodoxy, you might find it different from what you are used to seeing in other churches. Not only this is completely normal, but also expected. Orthodox Christianity is different than what most Americans and people from the Western tradition are used to seeing in their churches.

You need time to start absorbing the richness and the beauty of the Church. Take your time, there is no rush. Come, ask questions, and ask some more, and keep asking.

 

Talk to the priest, talk to the people, immerse yourself in the services, and let the Holy Spirit do His work.

You are a child of God, and God has brought you here. He loves you, and He will lead you to His Church. He knows what you have been through, and where you are going, trust in Him. Open your heart and mind, and let the mystery of the Church lead you towards the path of repentance, the joyful path of salvation.
